Did I get the wrong tag?

So the Elk hunt finally arrived. Darrick, Shay & Travis loaded everything up in the truck and trailer and headed off for their upcoming adventure. The weather was to turn cold, but Darrick made sure they had more than enough warm clothing! Shay received a whole new wardrobe of just hunting clothes and boots. The 6 coolers were loaded up with food and off they went............

Darrick said that Shay was awesome while hiking around. They hiked long distances during the day and Shay kept up....looking out for the elk they would shoot at. They saw a moose right off and while Travis called the moose on for a good fight....the moose moved on. (I would love to see Trav take on a Moose...I wonder who would have won.....Hmmmm! :-).) They came upon more moose, more deer....no elk.

Darrick's all prepared with rifle in hand. There's got to be an Elk out there somewhere.....they kept hiking around....and sitting......and waiting.

This is what they woke up to on Fri. morning! The snow soon started to fall again and so camp was packed up and on they moved. They drove further south until they were out of snow. They set up camp once again and ventured out to get their elk. No luck! Sat. morning they woke up to more snow and decided they would head for home and end their day at the BYU/ New Mexico football game. So....no elk was injured during this hunt.....at least not by Darrick. Did he get the wrong tag? Probably. He could have had a moose on the first morning of the hunt and had his shot at several deer but the elk was not to be seen. Oh well, they had a great time anyways and that's one thing they all needed. Maybe next year guys!
