These Pics were taken the night before the race. We had to try on the shirts and make sure they fit right? We had fun talking about the upcoming race, what we expected, what we would do different from the last and how excited Susan and I were to have Darrick join in on this marathon. We had a great dinner with Susan & Jared, good conversation, and an early night to bed....or at least that's what we all wanted. It turned out to be a restless night with all the anticipation of the race & we received an early wake-up call by mother nature with a BIG clap of thunder @ around 3 a.m. Of course we had to be up by 3:30 so what's a 30 min. earlier wake-up right? Who needs sleep before running 26.2 miles! We were expecting colder temps up at the start line. We took a shuttle from Logan near the finish line up to the start 45 min. (driving time) away. The race started at Hardware Ranch up Blacksmiths Fork Canyon. What a beautiful canyon and time of year for this run. They had a huge tent set up and a fire going. Temps were not bad. We stood around for 45 min. and then the race began. I kissed Darrick good-bye....wished him a great run and our experience began!
